Why go on a cross-cultural mission trip?

Navigators short-term mission trips can make a long-term impact, on others and on you, as you support established ministries around the world. Experience amazing people and places beyond your local community as you discover and share the gospel of Jesus inter-culturally. Join a mission trip team and build Kingdom relationships–with friends you invite to come along, in new settings with people from diverse cultures, and among fellow travelers on your journey.

Dedicate a portion of your summer to living among and serving with a Navigator team in Asia. You will find yourself in a fascinating, diverse culture as you see what Business as Missions (BAM) looks like in practice. Through eating amazing food in locals’ homes, you will have the opportunity to share stories about Jesus and what He has done in your life.
If you are adventurous, flexible and open to diving into a culture vastly different from your own, this trip could be for you! Expect your faith and trust in God to deepen as you are brought out of your comfort zone and into greater reliance on Christ. Although your living environment will be challenging, the deep, long-lasting relational opportunities are worth it.

Trip details: Join us this summer and invest your life into living and discipling in Namibia. You will spend most of your time with college students on campuses with established ministries. You will not only get to share the Gospel by initiating conversations and building relationships, but you will also have opportunities to disciple and encourage young believers.

We are looking for highly self-motivated and outgoing students who love taking initiative in conversations and building new friendships. Students’ openness to spiritual conversations will provide plenty of opportunities to share your life, values, and faith.
Your short-term missions trip schedule will include team devotionals, Bible study, and planning for ministry outreach events. Along with taking initiative in building relationships with students, you will also have opportunities to lead workshops at conferences and train young believers in basic discipleship tools.

Allow God to deepen your dependence on Jesus and grow your character as you and your team face challenges such as cultural differences, homesickness, and a fast-paced, constantly changing lifestyle. If you are flexible, willing to learn, and open to stretching your comfort zone, then this trip may be right for you.
Immerse yourself into a whole new world, and experience what it means to worship God through the lens of a different culture. Develop a deeper perspective of how the Gospel moves among the nations.
Join us and expect your heart to grow big in love for the lost!

Trip details:
We have designed the content of this overseas summer program around one theme: Followers of Jesus living and discipling among the lost. During this summer you will be stretched by extensive Bible study, one on one mentoring and various training workshops to help you learn the attitudes and skills needed for a life of fruitful outreach. Our community of over 50 non-Christian students is a safe place where you can put into practice what you are learning.

You will serve alongside the collegiate team in Tokyo, the heart of Japan. In BESTClub (our version of The Navigators in Japan) you will become a part of our student community where we read the Bible, practice English, play sports and travel together. We focus on creating servant leaders, leading individuals on a journey of growth, and creating a loving community. You will travel with students and develop deep relationships with them through the fun you will have, learning just as much about God’s love from them as they will learn from you.

The team in Tokyo is fairly large and has many resources to train and equip cross-cultural laborers. Joining us would give you many opportunities to lead and learn alongside the team here. This summer will consist of experiences that challenge your paradigm and re-think how you view yourself and God’s mission to the world. The team here is on the forefront of missions work and we love trying new things, continually innovating without fear of failure, in the pursuit of making God known among the Japanese.
In Japan, less than 1% believe in Jesus Christ. Most people have never had the opportunity to read the Bible. This is hard work and not for those who want an easy summer. But those who join us will come away with many deep, meaningful relationships with those who don’t know Jesus, life changing experiences, and a heart more aligned with God’s gospel to the nations. Come alongside us this Summer and join in on what God has for you and for the world.

A normal week will include:
  • Bible study
  • One of one mentoring session
  • Hours engaging with Japanese non-believing students
  • XTAWG (Extended Time alone with God)
  • Team building time
Trip dates: Winter break 2023
Team size: 8-10
Cost:  TBD
Application Deadline: October 2023

Trip details:
In Matthew 28, Jesus said to go to all the nations and make disciples. For 2000 years, the gospel has spread across the planet, bearing much fruit. Still, the work is not yet finished.
The whole world has come to this Middle Eastern location. It abounds with ambitious young adults fleeing poverty, conflict and the social norms of their home countries. It is a city filled with hopes and dreams. It is a city of both light and darkness. It is a city that needs Jesus. Join us during winter break to experience this fascinating city, connect with Jesus, and meet the many peoples who call this place home.

Members of this trip will experience the following:
Day 1-2: Immerse yourself in the cities sites and sounds. From the traditional past to the ultramodern present to a fantastic future, learn firsthand from locals about their food, religion, and life.
Day 3-4: Leaving the city behind for a few days, we’ll soothe our sore feet in an adventurous outing. Soaking in stars by night and searching ancient secrets by day, we will seek Christ’s Kingdom call for earth to be as it is in heaven.
Day 5-9: We will return to the city to interact with the nations, hearing their dreams and their understanding of life’s meaning by interacting with Arabs, South Asians, Pacific Islanders, and Africans.
Day 10: We will wrap up our time together in joyful worship with the nations and reflect on what God has done in and around us, praising Him for His diversity.
Come and join us, as we envision God’s work among the nations.
