This North African country is both difficult to navigate and beautiful. An arid, austere land that leaves people speechless, each participant will see the sand dunes that everyone expects but be inspired by the oasis that incorporates scrubby, greenery, variably colored rock outcroppings, and dates. The difficulty lies in the slow pace of development in terms of commerce and infrastructure and a low and unequal distribution of wealth. Water, power, and mobile phones have come to much of rural North Africa in the last few decades. However, there are frequent problems with the supply of all three, making communication with the outside world unreliable. People in this country love their land and love welcoming visitors. They demonstrate the best of Arab hospitality, and each visitor is warmly welcomed, be that a nomad’s desert tent or a millionaire’s palatial urban dwelling. The host team’s setting is a clinic in a town seven hours from the capital, at the end of the road, and, thus, in the middle of the desert. The town is small, and the practices local people have in seeking health care are what one would expect in those who have had minimal access to care for generations. |
Our plan over two weeks is to pair visitors with our local staff and send them out from house to house with simple tasks to perform rudimentary medical screenings. These are straightforward tasks that each participant will quickly learn to do with a day of training. In this way, we expect to uncover ailments and serve the local community by inviting them to receive necessary care.
Throughout the trip, participants will gain a kingdom perspective to wholistically serve the local community as they debrief their experiences and learn from the local team. Group discussions about the Kingdom will occur in sensitive and secure locations. Unfortunately, the country, particularly the rural areas, is not accommodating to those with physical handicaps. Additionally, the area lacks a variety of food options, making it so that no one attending can plan on a gluten-free, vegetarian, or lactose-free diet. Please consider these items as you contemplate this incredible opportunity. |

The whole world has come to this Middle Eastern location. It abounds with ambitious young adults fleeing poverty, conflict and the social norms of their home countries. It is a city filled with hopes and dreams. It is a city of both light and darkness. It is a city that needs Jesus. Dedicate a portion of your summer to living among and serving with a Navigator team in Asia. You will find yourself in a fascinating, diverse culture as you see what Business as Missions (BAM) looks like in practice. Through eating amazing food in locals’ homes, you will have the opportunity to share stories about Jesus and what He has done in your life. If you are adventurous, flexible and open to diving into a culture vastly different from your own, this trip could be for you! Team size: TBA Cost: TBA (fundraising strongly encouraged, we will provide training) Application Deadline: February 28th, 2024 Orientation: April 5 - 7, 2024, Kansas City, MO For details & application, visit Navigators World Missions Trip details: Join us this summer and invest your life into living and discipling in Namibia. You will spend most of your time with college students on campuses with established ministries. You will not only get to share the Gospel by initiating conversations and building relationships, but you will also have opportunities to disciple and encourage young believers.
We are looking for highly self-motivated and outgoing students who love taking initiative in conversations and building new friendships. Students’ openness to spiritual conversations will provide plenty of opportunities to share your life, values, and faith. Your short-term missions trip schedule will include team devotionals, Bible study, and planning for ministry outreach events. Along with taking initiative in building relationships with students, you will also have opportunities to lead workshops at conferences and train young believers in basic discipleship tools. |
Allow God to deepen your dependence on Jesus and grow your character as you and your team face challenges such as cultural differences, homesickness, and a fast-paced, constantly changing lifestyle. If you are flexible, willing to learn, and open to stretching your comfort zone, then this trip may be right for you.
Immerse yourself into a whole new world, and experience what it means to worship God through the lens of a different culture. Develop a deeper perspective of how the Gospel moves among the nations. Join us and expect your heart to grow big in love for the lost! |

We have designed the content of this overseas summer program around one theme: Followers of Jesus living and discipling among the lost. During this summer you will be stretched by extensive Bible study, one on one mentoring and various training workshops to help you learn the attitudes and skills needed for a life of fruitful outreach. Our community of over 50 non-Christian students is a safe place where you can put into practice what you are learning. You will serve alongside the collegiate team in Tokyo, the heart of Japan. In BESTClub (our version of The Navigators in Japan) you will become a part of our student community where we read the Bible, practice English, play sports and travel together. We focus on creating servant leaders, leading individuals on a journey of growth, and creating a loving community. You will travel with students and develop deep relationships with them through the fun you will have, learning just as much about God’s love from them as they will learn from you. The team in Tokyo is fairly large and has many resources to train and equip cross-cultural laborers. Joining us would give you many opportunities to lead and learn alongside the team here. This summer will consist of experiences that challenge your paradigm and re-think how you view yourself and God’s mission to the world. The team here is on the forefront of missions work and we love trying new things, continually innovating without fear of failure, in the pursuit of making God known among the Japanese. |
In Japan, less than 1% believe in Jesus Christ. Most people have never had the opportunity to read the Bible. This is hard work and not for those who want an easy summer. But those who join us will come away with many deep, meaningful relationships with those who don’t know Jesus, life changing experiences, and a heart more aligned with God’s gospel to the nations. Come alongside us this Summer and join in on what God has for you and for the world.
